In July, sometimes June depending on how warm it is there will be a hatch day where ants all across the country send off their winged and fertile males and females to breed and find a homesite all of their own (the male dies after mating) this can be one of natures spectacular events with what seems like millions of flying ants everywhere, it is spectacular and can fill a room up with flying ants quite quickly.
